WHAT IS SHEA BUTTER AND WHAT BENEFITS DOES IT HAVE?

Shea butter is extracted from shea tree nuts. It is off-white or ivory-colored and has a creamy consistency that is easy to spread on your skin. It makes a wonderful cosmetic ingredient thanks to a wide range of fatty acids and vitamins as well as antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is rich in vitamins A and E and provitamine.

Applying shea butter on your body creates a smooth and soft barrier that seals in moisture. This natural emollient is an excellent remedy for dry skin. Your skin absorbs it completely and will therefore not look oily after application.

Shea butter works for all skin types and can be applied to the body, hair, face and lips. It protects against UV rays and sunburns and has an after sun effect. Shea butter can also minimize the appearance of scars.

The important thing is to use it regularly. If you have a nut allergy, shea butter is not a good choice. Also before using it on babies, it is better to check with a doctor to be on the safe side.

Raw shea butter and products that contain shea butter should be stored in an airtight container in a cool environment. The average shelf life is 2 years.

When you are on the lookout for a natural skincare product, shea butter is always a winner!
